A sticker is a cut-out with rules
A sticker is the same job as a transparent PNG with three extra constraints: a fixed square, a small file, and an outline so it reads against any chat background. Each of those is easy to get slightly wrong — a subject touching the edge of the square, a 140 KB file an app refuses, an outline that is a blurry shadow rather than a cut line. This page applies all three and reports the result in numbers.
The quality search is done on the real encoder: the sticker is written as WebP at decreasing quality until it fits, and the size printed is the size of the file that downloads.
Limits
- Animated stickers are not made here; the output is a still image.
- A busy subject with lots of fine detail may need a lower quality to fit 100 KB, which the note will show.
Questions people ask
- What size is the sticker?
- 512 × 512 pixels, the subject centred on a transparent square, saved as WebP with the quality searched down until the file is under 100 KB. The note after saving says the size and quality it landed on. Where the browser cannot write WebP, it saves a PNG and says so.
- How is the outline made?
- From the subject's own edge. The distance from every pixel to the subject is measured exactly, and the outline is every pixel within the width you set, so it follows the shape at a constant thickness rather than being a blurred glow. A second, wider outline can sit underneath in another colour.
- Can I make a whole pack?
- Yes. 'Add to the pack' keeps each finished sticker in this tab; 'New picture' starts the next one with the same outline. 'Download the pack' saves a ZIP of up to 30 stickers and a 96 × 96 tray icon made from the first.
- Will the pack import straight into a chat app?
- The files follow the usual sticker-app figures (512 × 512 WebP under 100 KB, a 96 × 96 tray icon), but each app has its own rules and importer. Check your app's current requirements before publishing a pack.
- Is the photo uploaded?
- No. The model that finds the subject is downloaded once and runs in this page; the photo and the stickers never leave it.
