Terms for using this generator

Plain terms for a page that draws rectangles. Using the site means accepting them.

What you make here is yours

A background you generate on this site is yours to use for anything, including commercial work, with no attribution asked for and no licence to accept. No claim is made over the output, and none could sensibly be: what comes out is arithmetic applied to numbers you chose. The preset names and the site’s own text and code are not covered by that — those remain the site’s.

What you undertake

Not to use the site to produce anything unlawful, and not to attempt to interfere with it or with other people using it. Since nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored, there is little here to misuse, but the undertaking stands.

It is offered as it stands

The generator is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It depends on your browser’s canvas, its image encoders and the memory it will allocate, and those differ between browsers and devices in ways this page can detect but not control. In particular, no promise is made that a given output size will be produced on a given device: the ceilings are stated in the interface and are the browser’s, not ours.

To the extent the law allows, nothing here accepts liability for loss arising from use of the site, including a file that failed to save or a colour that did not match what a printer later produced. A print is a physical object made by a different process and the numbers in a file only ever describe an intention about it.

Availability and change

The site may change, move or stop without notice. Routes may be added or retired. Because there is no account and nothing stored, nothing of yours is lost when that happens — except a link, which will stop reproducing a design if the format that link is written in changes.

Advertising and third parties

Google advertising is intended for the reading pages, and it is what is meant to fund the work. It is not live: the domain has not been approved, the switch in the code is off, and no advertisement appears anywhere on this site yet. When it is approved, those units are filled by a third party under its own terms and this site has no control over what turns up in them. Nothing goes above or inside the generator then either. What the advertising script can and cannot see is set out on the privacy page rather than buried here.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute belongs in its courts. Nothing here removes a right you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement.
